If an ordered product is unavailable or we cannot fulfil your order, we will contact you within five business days. You may choose an available alternative, place the product on backorder or receive a full refund.

Transport Insurance

When bulky products are shipped through a third-party courier, a transport insurance levy of 5% of the product’s value may apply. Any applicable levy will be disclosed before payment is completed.

Change-of-Mind Returns

You may request a return within 30 days of delivery if you change your mind, provided that:

  • The product is unused and in its original condition.
  • All packaging, accessories, manuals, labels and components are included.
  • You provide your receipt or other valid proof of purchase.
  • You contact us before returning the product.
  • The product has not been assembled, installed, altered or damaged.

Approved change-of-mind returns may be exchanged or refunded using the original payment method. Original delivery, installation and assembly charges are not refundable. The customer is responsible for return transport costs.

Bulky products must not be returned without prior approval and delivery instructions from Tassie Table Sports.

This change-of-mind policy does not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Floor Stock and Display Products

Floor stock, demonstration products and clearance products may be sold in their inspected condition, including any faults, marks or imperfections clearly disclosed before purchase.

Please inspect these products carefully before purchasing. We do not provide change-of-mind returns for floor stock or display products.

This does not exclude your rights under the Australian Consumer Law regarding faults that were not disclosed before purchase.

Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.

You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

These rights apply in addition to any manufacturer’s or voluntary warranty provided with a product. Warranty periods and coverage may vary between products and will be stated in the relevant product description or accompanying documentation.

Reporting Damage or a Fault

Please inspect your product as soon as it is delivered. If it arrives damaged, incomplete or faulty, contact us as soon as possible at tassietablesports@gmail.com.

Please provide:

  • Your full name and order number.
  • A detailed description of the damage or fault.
  • Clear photographs showing the product and affected area.
  • A video demonstrating the fault, where appropriate.
  • Photographs of the packaging if the product was damaged during delivery.

We may need to inspect or assess the product before determining the appropriate remedy.

How Product Faults Are Resolved

The appropriate solution will depend on the nature and severity of the fault and your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Available remedies may include:

Spare Parts or Repair

If the fault can reasonably be resolved by supplying a replacement component, we may send the required part with instructions for installation.

Where a repair is appropriate, the product will be assessed and repaired within a reasonable time. Estimated repair times may vary due to parts availability, transport requirements or the accuracy of the fault information provided.

Replacement

If the fault cannot reasonably be repaired or resolved with replacement parts, we may provide a replacement product.

We may require the faulty product to be returned or collected before a replacement is supplied.

Partial Refund

For a minor or cosmetic issue that does not substantially affect the product’s operation, safety or intended use, we may offer a partial refund. Any partial refund must be agreed upon by the customer and will not limit rights that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

Refund or Store Credit

Where a major failure has occurred, or an appropriate repair or replacement cannot be provided, you may be entitled to choose a replacement or refund in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law.

Store credit may also be offered where agreed upon by the customer.

Costs Associated With Fault Claims

Approved remedies for valid product faults will be provided at no cost where required under the Australian Consumer Law or an applicable product warranty.

Assessment, labour or transport charges may apply if an inspection determines that:

  • The product is not faulty.
  • The damage was caused by misuse, neglect or an accident.
  • The product was assembled or installed incorrectly.
  • The issue is not covered by the Australian Consumer Law or an applicable manufacturer’s warranty.

We will advise you of any applicable charges before carrying out paid work.

What Is Not Covered

To the extent permitted by law, warranties do not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear.
  • Consumable or replaceable parts, including pool table cloth, net pockets, cues, balls, chalk, air hockey pushers and similar accessories.
  • Damage caused by misuse, neglect, abuse or abnormal use.
  • Damage caused by incorrect assembly or installation by the customer or a third party.
  • Damage caused during transport arranged independently by the customer.
  • Damage caused by flood, fire, earthquake or another natural event.
  • Products that have not been reasonably cleaned, cared for or maintained.
  • Products that have been altered, repaired or modified without authorisation.
  • Damage limited to external packaging where the product itself is unaffected.
  • Minor variations in dimensions, colour, grain, texture or finish.
  • Minor chips or superficial blemishes that do not affect normal operation.
  • Residential products used for commercial, institutional, rental or other non-residential purposes unless approved for that use.

These exclusions do not apply where they would limit rights that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

Timber Products

Natural timber may contain variations in colour, grain, texture, knots and other natural characteristics. Timber can also expand, contract or develop small cracks in response to changes in temperature and humidity.

These natural characteristics are not normally considered manufacturing defects unless the product fails to meet the consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law.

Care and Appropriate Use

Products must be assembled, installed, used and maintained according to the supplied instructions and their intended purpose.

Any voluntary or manufacturer’s warranty may no longer apply where damage results from misuse, inadequate maintenance, improper storage, an unsuitable environment, unauthorised modification or transport arranged by the customer.

Your automatic rights under the Australian Consumer Law may still apply.

Ownership of Goods

All products remain the property of Tassie Table Sports until payment has been received in full.

If payment is not completed, Tassie Table Sports may exercise any rights available under the applicable agreement and Australian law to recover the unpaid goods. Any recovery action will be carried out lawfully and without limiting rights that cannot legally be excluded.

The contact information and current 30-day return wording were checked against the Tassie Table Sports website. I also corrected the floor-stock and warranty wording so it does not appear to exclude mandatory rights outlined by the ACCC. This should still be reviewed by an Australian legal professional before publication.
